Tuesday – Week 3

Melissa posted a blog

Tuesday’s assignment:

Look up the Scripture verses from Chapter 3 in your Bible.  Write them in your journal. Share what has been special or important to you on my blog or the FB page.  Select one verse to memorize.  Post it in visible places.

The Scripture from chapter 3 are:

John 10:27 – My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;

Isaiah 55:2 – Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And delight yourself in abundance.

Deuteronomy 8:3 – He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD.

Psalm 119:105 – Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

Psalm 119:130 – The unfolding of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.

Hebrews 4:12 – For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

2 Timothy 3:16–17 – 16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

2 Samuel 22:31 – As for God, His way is blameless; The word of the LORD is tested;
He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.

Proverbs 30:5 – Every word of God is tested; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.

Matthew 24:35 – Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.

1 Peter 1:25 – BUT THE WORD OF THE LORD ENDURES FOREVER.”    And this is the word which was preached to you.

Psalm 119:89–91 –  89 Forever, O LORD,
Your word is settled in heaven.
90 Your faithfulness continues throughout all generations; You established the earth, and it stands.
91 They stand this day according to Your ordinances, For all things are Your servants.

Luke 24:46–47 – 46 and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

Acts 1:5 – for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.

John 1:1, 14 – 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Acts 1:8 – but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

John 16:13–14 – 13 But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you.

Isaiah 55:8–11 – 8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD.
9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts.
10 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth And making it bear and sprout, And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater;
11 So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty,
Without accomplishing what I desire,
And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.

Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.

Romans 8:28 – And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Hebrews 11:1 – Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

John 8:31–32 – 31 So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”

Boy, I wish I could add to this.  I had some thoughts when I read through Chapter 3 on Monday, but I didn’t write them down right then and now they have flown from my head.  All I can say is that Wendy shed some insight on some of this Scripture that I had never thought of before.

From now on, I will write things down so I can share them.
